Hartley Wintney Festival 2019

Marching band at Hartley Wintney FestivalBates are delighted to again sponsor and support the Rotary Club of Hart in their fund raising events in Hartley Wintney in 2019.

We start our sponsorship on Saturday 8th June when Bates Solicitors sponsor the Animal Farm which is one of many attractions at the Hartley Wintney Festival.   The theme this year is ‘Hartley Wintney History’.

This is an occasion for all the family and the proceedings begin at 12:30 pm with a procession around the Cricket Green.

There will be events in the arena throughout the afternoon including:-

• children’s choirs
• Morris men
• a marching band
• the ever-popular tug-of-war and
• children’s races.

Outside the arena, there will be lots of other entertainment for children, including:-

• a climbing tower
• Punch and Judy
• animal farm (sponsored by Bates)
• bouncy castle
• sumo wrestling and
• a mini-funfair.

In addition there will be a Car, Motor Cycle & Farm Machinery Show

Vehicles entered into the Show will be judged for prizes in the following categories:

• Best Pre-war Car
• Best Post-war Car
• Best Motorcycle
• Best Farm Machinery-Static Engine and
• Best Farm Machinery-Tractor.

As in previous years, the “Best Overall Car in Show” will be awarded the prestigious “Phil Anderson Trophy”

There will also be a whole range of stalls, exhibits and country activities that you would expect to find at a village festival.

And if all this was not sufficient, there will be a Fun Dog Show!

With so many attractions you can be assured of a great day out.

As always, The Rotary Club of Hart organise this event in aid of charity and this year money raised from the sale of programmes, together with the proceeds from the street collection during the Procession, will go to the St Michael’s Hospice, Basingstoke.    Any other surpluses from the Festival will go to other local and international good causes.
