Concert in a Car Park !!!!

A Concert in a Car Park!!

KateWhitley

Kate Whitley

It seems an unlikely venue but with creative vision Kate Whitley collaborated with conductor Christopher Stark to organise a performance of Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring by 102 musicians in a disused multi storey car park in Peckham.

The audience – in excess of 1,500 – watched and listened to the concert on improvised seating for what was described as “the most exciting development in classical music for decades, if not centuries” by the Times.

Kate graduated from Cambridge in 2011 with a double first in Music and MPhil in Composition and was a Borletti-Buitoni Trust Special Award winner in 2014 and was appointed Music Fellow at Rambert Dance Company.

Kate is guest pianist with the Angell Piano Trio in concert with Matthew Rose for the next in a series of concerts sponsored by Bates Solicitors.

The concert will feature works of Schubert together with new compositions specially commissioned for piano trio and bass.

The Concert will be held on Sunday 15 March 6.30 pm at The Victoria Hall   Hartley Wintney RG27 8RQ and Tickets are Free

A collection will be taken in aid of the Odiham Cottage Hospital.
